My Husband, Kid Costume Visionary

You know that my husband has mad costume creation skills when last year's costumes are featured on Boing Boing! It's so hard to decide which I love the most... this year's port-a-potty is hilarious, the ewoks and AT-ST last year were sheer marvels, 2008's Transformers we awfully cool... but I still have a warm spot in my heart for my little jawa and Herbie and his infant brother mechanic.

My husband, the kid costume visionary.

So glad you've gotten recognition...because I can't imagine ANYONE who has made more fantastic costumes than you, Steve! You are the gold standard by which all other costume creators are measured.

I don't even know what to say about the port-a-potty costume. It is ingenious and awesome but also rather frightening. I think I prefer Herbie! :)

I saw an awesome one this year -- a fellow in my neighborhood came as the boy scout from the movie UP. He had a full boy scout uniform on, a pack loaded with all kinds of helpful stuff, and he had a rope tied around his waist that connected him to an AV cart. On the top shelf of the cart was a lovely doll house that served as the anchor for a large bouquet of helium balloons. (this was for an indoor party -- he didn't wander the neighborhood like that). It was a wonderful sight to behold!
