Desperate Plea for Comments

My friend Mary just authored a fantastic post on her blog. It is entitled Every Time You Read a Blog and Don't Leave a Comment, a Fairy Dies and you should head straight to her blog and read it because she echos the thoughts of every mom-who-blogs (hithertoforth known as MWB) out there. I don't know of any MWB whose heart doesn't jump just a little bit when they get that "There's a new comment" email in your inbox. Yeah, that probably sounds pathetic, but I'll admit to it. You spend hours a week writing posts for your friends and family and probably more than a few lurking strangers, and it's always nice to know that somebody cares enough to jot down a sentence in return.

So share the love and express your appreciation - comment on a blog today!

I will, I will! I'll comment right here, right now. And I'll say, wow, thanks for the linky love!

I was hoping it would be less pathetic if I was just linking to somebody else's post... but I don't think I came off any less needy

I love it! And yes, I struggle all the time with the whole comment thing. Each new post gets well over a hundred hits, but I'm "lucky" if I pull in even a dozen comments. Drat, drat, drat!! I actually (and this is going to sound silly) had to have a good heart to heart with myself this winter about "just who I am writing my blog for anyway!" :-) I was bummin' big time for so few comments.

Ok, there you have it. I just spilled my one woe-is-me dark secret. Tread lightly! :-)

I totally hear you - I try to remember that the blog is great for a family chronology even if nobody reads it... but sometimes it's hard to remember that :)

okay okay...my Morningstar stalking habit may not be a secret to you...and I do leave comments once in awhile...however I do talk to people about you just as much as I leave comments...rather funny to "blog stalk" someone and then tell my friends about YOUR life and experiences (jeez, do you mind if I borrow you for my own social gain?!) Anywho, it all started long ago when those sweet boys were my students, then I just never kicked the "habit" of keeping up with you guys...then you made it really interesting and went to Russia for 60 days on quite the excursion that was just too good to miss..not too mention I love reading both of your writings, you both crack me up! Now, I assure you I keep up with many blogs, but very few do I actually READ! Yours I DO! Thank you for entertaining me, I love those sweet boys and now the adorable Sasha. Keep up the great blogging! :)

Love, "Miss" Brianna

p.s. birkenstocks...aww yes I remember those from my youngin days. ROCK it! I really had no idea they still exsited (don't date me! apparently you and birkenstocks are very close) hehe

I try to read every day, and sometimes I get upset when you haven't posted, and I have told a ton of people about your blog...does that count for anything if I rarely post a comment? I figure no one else knows who I am so why would they want to read my comments. :) - Anna
