Guess which precious baby girl slept through the night for the very first time last night!?! It's been a long time coming (almost 3 months, but who's counting?), and we have worked hard for this day.
I think we never really expected it to happen, as evidenced by our shocked and confused conversation this morning as we woke up without any pint-sized interlopers in bed:
Steve: Is WanYing here?
Jamie: No, I don't think so
Steve: Did you get her last night?
Jamie: No, did you?
Steve: No. Did you hear her at all?
Jamie: No, did you?
Steve: No.
Steve and Jamie, basically in unison: Do you think she's dead?!?
I love it that the only reasonable explanation we could come up with at 7 am for our daughter's non-presence in our bed is that she had expired in the night.
Of course, she was very much alive and woke up with her normal, endearing, groggy morning disorientation a few minutes later (she wakes up with her mommy's grace). We naturally expect her to wake up in the night many more times in the coming weeks, but it's good to know that it is physically possible for her to stay in bed and not wake up (or, at least, if she wakes up, to settle herself back down again) for 11 whole hours.
An uninterrupted night's sleep - I could get used to this!

Congratulations on both of your girls accomplishments....a full nights sleep for WanYing AND Sasha writing her name by herself! As a parent, those are BIG moments (of course if I had to pick one I'd go for the good night's sleep!-)
Nice job to two very HARD working parents!
Now get some sleep. Who knows if you'll have another visitor or not but you can dream (for at least the first few hours!)
Lou Ann & Lexie too
We don't get those uninterrupted night sleeps very often. You mentioned you've been working hard for this day. What is it that you do? What is your secret?
Congratulations!
Ruby
Congrats!! We just celebrated our 2nd night of sleep with our son! We just got home a couple weeks ago, so we're over the moon that he's doing so well so quickly. I love following your blog! You have a beautiful family! Congratulations again! ~Amy
