Best Birthday Ever

I am now officially planning to celebrate my thirtieth birthday every year for the rest of my life. Not because I'm weird about growing older, just because I've been celebrating the big 3-0 for two years now and it is working out exceedingly well!

This weekend, my extraordinary girlfriends surprised me with a trip to Portland. Whose friends surprise a girl with a cross country trip?!? Mine!

It turns out that my friends and husband have been in cahoots for months planning this amazing weekend. Months! They are a wonderfully sneaky bunch.

It all started on Friday when, instead of being met at work by my husband, I was whisked away by Kristen and Laura for mystery girls weekend. We fortified ourselves with panini and coffee and then it was off to the airport to visit Cindy in Portland! And the whole weekend was simply chock full of surprises and adventures one after another - my friends sure know how to keep me guessing in all the best ways.

Three nights, four wineries, innumerable coffees, one tea house, five restaurants, one hike, and four pedicures later I'm convinced - this was the best birthday ever. We were reminded over and over again that every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the Heavenly Lights (James 1:17). And I'll tell you what - nothing drives home God's good and perfect gifts like a Bible study in a Portland vineyard on a warm, sunny April day!

Sisters - you are such a blessing to me!

I love Oregon Wineries! Especially towards the coast (ex in Dundee, etc). Watch out Jamie...I don't think that b-day can be topped! I'm so glad you enjoyed your time with friends, sounds like they really felt you deserved a break and some pampering, I'm sure they were right!
